At the beginning of October, we spent the weekend at Build It Live in Bicester, offering budding self-builders an insight into building their own home.
Through video, Q&A sessions, and one-to-one meetings we provided potential buyers with all the tools they needed to get started on their dream project.
Inspiring budding self-builders
Attendees were able to meet the members of our team for one-to-one advice, along with viewing plot availability and learning more about our community, straight from some of our very own self-builders. In addition, guests were able to visit our “outdoor cinema”, where they could learn about the Graven Hill story and what the future holds for us and our residents.
As well as getting guests started on their own self-building journey, we also announced the launch of 18 brand new self-build plots on the development.
A great success
Situated on the western side of Graven Hill, these brand-new self-build plots are surrounded by vast amounts of green open space, making them the perfect place for young families to enjoy. Varying in size, each home benefits from one of our unique plot passports, which sets out the parameters of the build and guarantees planning permission within 28 days.
Due to their spacious surroundings, all but two of the plots were quickly snapped up by attendees of the event, giving those inspired by what they saw at Build It Live, the opportunity to get started on their self-build journey straight away.

An educational relationship
With a combined mission to educate prospective self-builders, our relationship with Build It has always been a positive one. In November 2019, Build It joined us on site with the introduction of the Build It Education House, which acts as a learning tool for our budding self-builders.
A self-build project itself, the House is also home to our Marketing Suite, where residents and visitors can meet our friendly team and find out more about the self and custom-build opportunities here at Graven Hill.
