On 9 July, 10 North Oxfordshire students visited Graven Hill as part of MP Victoria Prentis’ work experience week.

‘Prentis Summer School’ is an initiative for students in North Oxfordshire to get a taste of life as an MP and in politics.

Victoria Prentis has long been an advocate for Graven Hill. With substantial growth within the constituency as well as the recent self-build adjournment debate, the Conservative MP felt it was important to show the students what is happening on the ground.

The students, aged 15-16 from across North Oxfordshire, had a great afternoon looking around the site guided by Craig, one of our project managers. Inspired by all the different options available for getting on the housing ladder, many of them left feeling keen to explore the work that Cherwell District Council are doing to support self-building. As part of the ‘Prentis Summer School’ programme, the students will feed their visit into a group project on local and national issues.
