Seven premium plots, which were released by Graven Hill Village Development Company, under a sealed bid auction, have been snapped up by eager self-builders.

The plots which can accommodate up to a six-bedroom house, were opened up to bidding between 16 January and 24 February, with achieved prices for the land ranging from £270,000 to £354,000 and plot sizes ranging from 4,726 square feet to 6,901 square feet.

These latest sales mean that 83 per cent of plots on the first phase have now been reserved, leading the company to release a further eight plots, with guide prices of between £230,000 and £265,000.

Adrian Unitt, operations director for the Graven Hill Village Development Company said: “We had anticipated high levels of interest in these plots, given their prime location near to the hill, but we are delighted that all seven have sold as it confirms that our guide prices are right for the market.

“Given the level of demand for these larger size plots, we have therefore made the decision to bring forward the release of a further eight plots.  These are a combination of four, five and six bedroom plots which will go on sale today (20 March 2017).”

Over the next decade the site will develop to accommodate up to 1,900 new homes many of which will be self or custom-built and there is the potential to provide a wide variety of sizes, including plots for people on more modest budgets.

Graven Hill is expected to release a range of new products over the coming months and is expecting the first residents to move onto the site later this year.
